I'm an avid NHL hockey fan, primarily of the San Jose Sharks (although I will idly follow other teams on occasion), and I'm blogging about it (when I do) over on ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) sharkshockey. I've been taking adult hockey classes since Fall 2006, and play in a rec league at Sharks Ice at San Jose for Absolute Zero (EEE-level).
I love to read. I dabble in writing, but never intend to publish; like Hillary, I do it "because it's there". I like to cook and consider myself an omnivorous gourmand. I used to do tabletop, online, and live action role-playing but currently don't. I occasionally go on bouts of console video game playing, primarily RPGs. I watch a number of cult TV shows and like most genres of cinema. I have a number of crafting hobbies, primarily knitting, although in the past I've also dabbled in cross-stitch, crochet and soapcrafting, which you can read about in greater detail at my craft-only journal, ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) tersacrafts, by clicking here.
I am a Taurus born in the Chinese year of the metal Boar, meaning I come naturally by my hedonistic streak and sometimes irrational stubbornness. I'm INXJ on the Myers-Briggs, a '6' on the Enneagram test, and right-brain dominant, which supposedly explains why I'm into crafting, sports, and writing and why I absolutely suck at speaking foreign languages (French and Russian) although I love and want to learn them anyway.

I rarely use it, but it's the Queen of Swords card from the Renaissance Tarot by Brian Williams, because it's the image I most identify with 'me', my true avatar if you will. Why? In my infrequent dabblings in Tarot, it has been the only court card description that I feel really nails my personality--which includes any other Queen of Swords description from any other deck. The Renaissance Tarot seems also to be the only deck that actually 'speaks' to me regarding qustions about myself.Queen of Swords: "A person of sharp insight, persuasive, powerful, and thorough. If extroverted, an administrator, an organizer, a firebrand, splendid as a summer's day - and sometimes as overwhelming.
